Media Meets Policy: Engaging Erasmus+ Lecture for PSIR Students

On Monday, May 26, 2025, as part of the Erasmus+ program, Associate Professor Dr. Volkan Göçoğlu from Afyon Kocatepe University visited the Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS).

Dr. Göçoğlu, a distinguished scholar and researcher with published works on public policy, governance, public administration, and social media—and co-author of Citizen Centricity in Public Policy Making - delivered a thought-provoking lecture to students of the Politics and the Media course.

Focusing on the topic “Agenda-Setting and Policy Formulation for Sustainable Development Goals in Türkiye”, the session encouraged students to critically examine the role of media in shaping policy priorities and influencing the implementation of SDGs at the national level. Through dynamic discussions and real-world case studies, students explored the practical intersections of media, governance, and sustainable development beyond theoretical frameworks.
