Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirsad Karić and PR Manager Meldina Ugarak participated in International Conference of Ombudsmen of human rights in BiH
Celebrating 20 years of existence and work of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized International conference, which was held in the Great hall of the Parliamentary Assembly.
Office of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the framework of the Program of celebrating twenty years of its activity, organized an international conference entitled: "Equal in Diversity", which was, with the support of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, held on Tuesday, 18 October, 2016 in Sarajevo. The conference discussed the achieved level of protection of human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the challenges faced by entities involved in the protection and promotion of human rights. As part of the conference was shown a short documentary on the role that the Office of the Ombudsman has in society.
The conference brought together international experts and practitioners in the field of human rights, representatives of national human rights institutions and equality bodies from the region, lawyers, judges, representatives of legislative and executive authorities, civil society organizations, international organizations, representatives of the academic community and all those who are in the last 20 years in any way contributed to the work of the Office of the Ombudsman for Human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirsad Karić and PR Manager Meldina Ugarak were participants in this International Conference. Representatives of IUS emphasized current issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina related to the human rights.
Following speakers were participants in this Conference: Borislav Bojić, president of Common commission for human rights of Parliament Assembly of BiH, Semiha Borovac, Minister for human rights and refugees in Bosnia and Herzegovina, HE Jonathan Moore, chief of the Mission OSCE in BiH, HE Lars-Gunnar Wigermark, chief of the EU Delegation in BiH and special representative of EU in BiH, Lora Vidović, Idžet Memeti, Saša Janković, Nives Jukić, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Đurić, Hilmi Jashari, Emina Bošnjak, Dr. Predrag Radosavljević and other panelists.
