Assistant Professor Dr. Edo Omerčević Speaks on Mid-Term Evaluations at Regional Development Planning Meeting

Assistant Professor of Economics Dr. Edo Omerčević from the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) participated as a speaker at the 12th Meeting of the Network of Cantonal Development Planning Practitioners, held in Livno and Split from May 18 to 20, 2026.

As part of the program, Dr. Omerčević delivered a session titled “Mid-Term Evaluations: Challenges, Opportunities and Methodology,” in which he addressed contemporary approaches to evaluation within public development strategic planning frameworks in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His presentation contributed to an important professional dialogue on the role of evaluation in improving the quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of public development policies.

The high-level meeting brought together representatives of governmental institutions, international organizations, and experts in development planning to discuss the future of strategic development, evaluation systems, sustainable growth, and institutional capacity building in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event was organized by the Development Programming Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Dr. Rijad Kovač, Director of the Institute and part-time faculty member at the Faculty of Business and Administration of the International University of Sarajevo.

Through the active engagement of its academic staff in policy-oriented dialogue and professional practice, IUS continues to contribute to the advancement of evidence-based development planning and stronger public sector governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
