IUS FBA Students Visit Sarajevo International Airport to Explore Business Ethics in Practice

On Monday, May 11, 2026, third-year students from the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) at the International University of Sarajevo visited Sarajevo International Airport as part of their Business Ethics course, gaining a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world professional practice.

The visit was organized to provide students with a broader understanding of airport operations, not only from the perspective of aviation activities, but also in terms of management, responsibility, and the wider business environment in which such a complex system operates.

During the visit, students toured key airport facilities and became familiar with internal processes, with particular attention given to operational management and the importance of coordinated decision-making in a highly sensitive and dynamic environment.

At the Training Center for Professional Staff, students attended a presentation delivered by Mr. Senad Malić, Director of the Security and Safety Department, who introduced them to airport security procedures and highlighted the crucial role of the human factor in maintaining safety and operational reliability.

The group was also welcomed by Acting Director Mr. Dino Selimović, with whom students had the opportunity to discuss ethical dilemmas and crisis situations in the aviation industry, gaining deeper insight into the challenges professionals face when balancing responsibility, safety, and decision-making in practice.

For the students, the visit was especially meaningful as it allowed them to observe real-life operations firsthand and reflect on business ethics issues in a setting they could directly relate to. Experiences such as this enrich the learning process by helping students better understand how ethical principles apply across different sectors and professional contexts.
